Because I got to SHOWER!! :)
After going to the dunes for 3 days in a motor home with a limited amount of water, a shower is something that is not allowed. I know now after years of experience that I don't even ask my dad if I can shower anymore because the answer always is no. But today we came home and I got to shower. I washed my hair 3 times and scrubbed until every grain of sand was down the drain. Alright, I know none of you guys actually care about me showering. But for me, it's a big deal. Even in real life... ask my roommates, they know how hard it is for me to make myself shower :) haha.
But anyway, the Christmas Break Dunes Trip of 2010 was a blast! Really, it was probably one of my favorite years! Yes, last year was unforgettable because we had Christmas there, but this year was just great! We stayed probably about a day shorter than we usually do but I think it was just perfect. There were only 6 of the family members who could make it this year. Nate had Basketball, and Ryan Steph and little Brig couldn't make it. We sure missed them, and poor Nate sure wanted to come, but in the Schlappi family we don't sympathize... we just leave them home. Trust me, with our High School soccer tournament every Christmas Break I had to miss out on 3 years of dunes trips. It was no fun.
But I love the dunes. While some people go out and go skiing for Christmas break, we go down to the sunshine in Yuma and ride. Man it is so great to just ride all day and only hear the sound of other quads (or 4-wheelers for you utah weirdos) and sand rails.
This year is weird because I am like 10 times more sore after riding than I usually am. I think its probably because I never am active anymore and because there were only 6 of us, so I got to ride a lot more. Ouch.
I'm sad I have zero pictures of the trip, but it's probably a good thing. The dunes aren't the prettiest things in the world, and we all looked just great covered in sand and smelly from not getting a shower :)
But, there WAS an AWESOME sunset... emily :)
And we Celebrated the New Year with some fireworks, bubbly, and of course... LOST. My family is hooked!
haha, anyway, this is a long random boring post. My apologies :)
I hope everyone's new year was awesome.
Mine sure was.
P.S. Happy news minute
