adventurousome.

I know, spell check even told me I spelled the title wrong buttt I'm okay with it.

But here is the deal. Remember how my life is great and I go on little adventures all the time? Well lets hope that continues because it has been great. But how about a little update on all my adventures eh?

Lets start with good ol' Eager Arizona.
I went on this little weekend adventure with Lynzi and Travis to go visit a good friend of ours that was crippled with shoulder sergery and a broken arm wrist thing.
In Eager we did loads of fun things.
Like,
Shooting Guns
Becoming professional at throwing Pigeons and well, shooting of course.

Chasing duckies :)

using self timer

Taking "COOLPIX"
becoming a karate kid

and well, having fun :)
oh AND seeing the weirdest people...

and last but not least... Making the most DELICIOUS peach cobbler ever. Oh man.
The end.

Since then I have...
  • played kissing rugby, (heyyyy don't judge. I know I did. But it was actually so fun. So so fun.)
  • said goodbye to some of my bestest friends for two years. AkA Bradley Heap and Chandler Willman. Sad Happy day.
  • got a new calling - ward music cordinator. bring it on!
  • worked, worked, and more work.
  • Took my nephew on a Zoo date. He is the cutest... and he knows it :)
  • and lastly, went camping with the family for memorial day weekend!! Freezing, but fun.
Maybe if I ever feel like it I will post about the last two.
We'll see.

Life is good though, yeah?

P.S. Hopefully next time I post it won't be about my adventures in Jail. Because I have to serve jury duty in a week BUT I lost my summons thing. So therefore I haven't mailed it in to say I am coming. Which means I didn't get my jury badge. Which means I can't go to jury duty. Which means I either get fined 1,000 bones or go to jail for 3 days. Either way, I don't need that right now. Oy.

Okay, maybe it's just me... But I hate paper cuts.
Hate them.
and, I am constantly covered in them because I work with paper all day...
and and they hurt like crazy so then I feel like a complete wusscake with weaksauce on top for complaining about them.

BUT good news in emerald city!!
I am not a complete wusscake...
I found this and it changed my life.

read it and weap

Seriously?! That explains everything.

Now they just need to invent some sort of a lotion to prevent any and all papercuts...
Including the ones you get from cardstock.  Because those ones killll.

Over and out.

I'm a big girl now

Guys, you are not going to believe this.
I had a breakthrough moment today.
Today was the day that I ate trail mix without picking out the raisins!! I KNOW!! It's kind of a big deal... I have always picked out the raisins and I wasn't planning on changing my ways anytime soon. AND I don't even like those weird things call raisins!!
Also, not only did I eat the raisins in my trail mix. I liked them!
No, I am not turning into a grandma who likes raisins... Don't be too worried yet. But I have amade a grand new discovery.

Trail Mix tastes 7 times better with Raisins.

Who knew, right?
I now see Trail mix in a whole new light.
So if you are one of those non-raisin eaters... I dare you to just blidindly put your hand in the bag and take what you've got. Because it tastes goood.

Wow. I think I'm gonna have to get me some more trial mix :)

PS.
I realized... My blog is pretty  much a whole lot of this.

...and I'm okay with it :)

Too good.

No I did not watch the royal wedding... Should I have? Probably.
To my defense I think I probably watched 40 seconds of it while my sister was watching it on the internet.
I think that's enough.

But yes, I loved her dress... Yes, he is balding and she is flawless.
Oh well.

BUT this picture was just too good to be true!
Really, I had to share.

Isn't that amazing!!?!!
Everything is perfect. The outfits are basically Identical and I love it. Love. Well actually, he needs white gloves. And then it is complete.
Does anyone even love it as much as I do..?  Probably. It's incredible the similarities.
Who knew good old Walt Disney could see the future?
We never saw it coming.

Anyway... this definitely put a bright spot in my long and boring work day.
I hope it does the same for you.

uno dos tres

Today is a good day. Do you want to know why... Do you want to know WHY?! (name that movie!!
I got to design labels!! I know, doesn't sound that great...? But it sure was fun.
Give me a theme, some sort of program to work with besides paint, and voila! I was one happy girl for the last 2 hours of work yesterday and for 2 hours this morning... I would much rather be doing something creative and fun on the computer than scanning... or filing..
But really, can talk about how much I despise the program called...paint! I despise it. Mostly I think I despise that that is the ONLY sort or editing program they have on my work laptop anddd I am not allowed to download anything... Such as a one month free trial of photoshop... arg securuty settings. If only I was back at the BYU in the computer labs where I have the ability to override the "no downloads rule" or whatever. Oh just one of the perks of working in the labs...Also, I was spoiled at BYU and had photoshop and anything I ever dreamed of wanting at my findertips.
But really, trying to design something using the editing system using only Microsoft word is the most annoying thing ever. So yes, I hate Paint.
Hate Paint. Ha

Anyway, moral of the post. Designing labels is fun. Doing things like that on the computer is fun for me! Wow, guys I am finding something I like to do... What.  Maybe I should major in Graphic Design???

Oh wait, I already checked out the program at BYU.... and there is no way.

Oh well. Life is good anyway.
And life is especially good today, and yesterday, and mostly today because it is the weekend. And this weekend's adventure entails going to the Zoo with my nephew Brigham tomorrow.

I may or may not be a little more excited than he is... :)

**Unrelated afterthought... I just ate a KitKat and I was very disappointed. It didn't make that irresistable cracking sound like in the commercials. False advertising. Sue them :)

Tips for success.

In my 20 years of living I would have to say I have learned lots of things. Some from textbooks, and some from life experience. And yes, I realize 20 years is not that long to live... so here is some limited knowledge I am so graciously sharing with you. These are a list of things that will definitely help you succeed in life.
Ready?

Tip #1: Always finish what you start, even if it means eating the whole cake
Tip #2: You are what you eat... so eat skinny people.
Tip #3: Check your facebook one last time before you start that homework you are about to do...
Tip #4: Don't tease fat kids, they have enough on their plates
Tip #5: To get better grades, eat Asian food every night before a test.
Tip #6: Always put your address on your house keys. Then if they are lost they can be returned to you with no trouble
Tip #7: Open the Chamber of Secrets
Tip #8: Nothing says "I love you" better than a plastic heart shaped balloon that says, "I love you".
Tip #9: Right before opening a soda bottle, shake it vigorously to mix all the flavor together, making the drink taste better and more satisfying.
Tip #10: When talking to a British person, speak only about tea or else they won't understand you
Tip #11: Pictures are worth a thousand words. Especially during essays
Tip #12: When playing with grenades be sure to be with Bruno Mars
Tip #13: Wearing your underwear over your pants is the first step to becoming a super-hero
Tip #14: If you need to loose weight, cover everything you eat in butter. That way it will slide right through your digestive system
Tip #15: In the winter metal poles taste like candy. Don't hestitate to lick them.
Tip #16: Make bomb jokes in the airport. Security loves that kind of light humor in the midst of their stressful jobs.
Tip #17: Like your own statuses on Facebook
Tip #18: Filling every bubble on the scantron will result in all right answers
Tip #19: When girls don't want to talk to you it means they have a crush on you. Be persistent
Tip #20: When in doubt, mumble

***

Now okay, truth comes out. I may or may not have done any of these. I may or may not have done some of these. And I may or may not have done ALL of these. That's up for you to decide. But I think that they are pretty smart! I'm definitely going to make a goal to implement these into my life :) Also, I got most of these from here. Check out this website, it is actually pretty funny. And a great time waster. And where I pulled my favorite Tips For Success from..
So yes. Enjoy.

And good luck with your success ;)

one time.

I went to California. With my sister, mom, and sister-in-law. Lets just sayyy... it was a BLAST! I loved it. Love love love. It was a perfect get away without the men. And we sure did live it up.
In many ways. All day every day.

We enjoyed the Sunshine and fantastic weather at Laguna Beach for 2 days...

Boogie boarded it up. Of course.
But mostly, soaked up the sun and played Rook and Backgammon on the beach :)
I got buried for the first time in my life... I was a little disappointed. I wanted to look like a mermaid or a penguin or sumsing. But I think they were going for the more... Natural look. Or maybe just got sick of burying me. that was probably it.

PS. Being covered in sand really isn't all that fun. The sun is shining in your eyes, you can't breathe. And have sand in every pore of your body for days...

Friday Night we went to some tasty Italian Resturant called Brio. I love Italian food... Mmm...

We finished off the trip walking around the Fashin District and going to the Temple in LA.
Unfortunately my recommend is lost at the moment so I didn't go inside, But the visitors center there is really cool too. And so are the sister missionaries. Talking to them really makes me want to go on a mission. Badly.
ps, lookit that palm tree
A. it is extremely tall
and
B. It's going to fall. One day...

Anyway. That was the trip in the a Nutshell. I am pretty sure this sisters trip is definitely going to become an annual tradition. The husbands missed their wives... But I am just so glad my husband is so understanding and willing to let me go on fun trips like this without him!! Uh... wait. But really, the other husbands were so great to let their wifeys leave them behind. It was just so great to just get away and do everything guys don't traditionally love to do. Like shop and lay around at the beach.
Thanks men for letting us go!!

What a wonderful trip.

Now tomorrow I'm off to Eagar AZ to visit Tsnacks.
I know, all I ever do is go on little trips.
Isn't it great?!

sunshine lollipops & rainbows

Life has been oh so good to me lately! Really, I don't think I deserve it.
Well, mom went outta town and I was the stand in mom... and let me tell you, I was basically Tara;s full time nurse... although I am not complaining. We got some quality bonding time in... if you know what I mean.

Also, Nate-dawg my studdly little brother rocks at the sport called Volleyball.
Who knew?

Tara's recovery included lots of food network and modern family, a few bike rides, and....
Baking this massive beyond massive cake!!
This all went down on Thursday night.

Yes I am aware that cake just looks like a bunch of pancakes... but it took us 2 whole hours to make this thing!! I saw the recipe on my most favorite Cake blog ever called Bakerella and felll in love like 4 months ago and have been dying to make it ever since. But, since I am a poor college and mostly lack time to do these kinds of things I never had the chance.
Until now.

But let me tell you... it was... gross. disgusting.
so gross, I gagged.
Honestly, I have never gagged while eating cake before. Okay, I rarely gag while eating food. But something was wrong with this cake. I was quite sad about it actually.

Also other exiting things happened on this night, but I will have to share another time...

Anyway, I am becoming a slacker on this blog now that I am home... now that I am not on the computer nearly as much as in the college life. So we'll see. I'll try and keep up on it.

Last but not least.
Peff, Moms, Ter, and I are embarking on an exciting adventure tomorrow!! We are heading to Laguna Beach until Saturday. Hallelujah!
I am so stinking excited.
